We work with students who have formally been identified as G/T as well as students who demonstrate advanced potential in reading and/or math. Students receive small group instruction as well as opportunities for co-teaching within the classroom. Formal identification as a gifted and talented(GT) student requires an assortment of informal and formal assessments. After acquiring this data, some students will be formally identified as GT and some will be placed on a watch list where they will continue to receive instruction and receive more progress monitoring. We have attached a couple references to aid in distinguishing a gifted learner from a high achiever as well as some general characteristics of gifted learners. Please feel free to contact us if we can answer any questions!

With access to the internet comes the availability of material that may not be of educational value or appropriate for students. While at school, CCSD has taken precautions to restrict access to inappropriate or harmful web sites. However, on the internet it is impossible to control all materials and limit all access to information that has no educational value. CCSD firmly believes that the valuable information and the interaction available on the internet far outweigh the possibility that users may procure material that is not consistent with the educational goals of CCSD.
