"Regular exercise can turbocharge brain power, improve mood, memory, and focus while fighting depression and age-related decline." ~Selene Yeager.
Girls on the Run is for girls in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade who want to run and have fun! The girls learn about fitness, self-esteem, positive self-talk, combatting peer pressure, and friendship. Research shows that students who are physically active are more attentive, get along better with others, and perform better on tests. We also work on social justice issues such as anti-bullying campaigns and the power of positive thinking. Our video is even on the Girls On The Run Facebook page! Click here to check it out!
Girls on the Run meets after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30 to 5:00. They build stamina and endurance in order to complete a sponsored 5K run together with schools from all over Denver, which happens at the end of the nine-week season.
Along with their coaches, the girls run on the field behind Holly Hills.
