"Teaching the Value and Character of Leadership"
In honor and appreciation of Veterans on November 11, 2011, we will have retired Air Force Colonel and Chaplain, Dr. Phil Miller, as the guest speaker at the November PIN meeting.
Making leaders is more than giving an individual the opportunity to lead. Leadership is valued for both competence and character. Teaching the qualities of leadership involves understanding the themes of integrity, excellence and service.
Learn the importance of building character and promoting an ethical culture for raising tomorrow's leaders. Discover what character aspects will help your child be a better leader and citizen of the world. Our speaker, Phil Miller, PhD, a retired Colonel and Chaplain, with 26 years in the Air Force Reserve, and the current Executive Director of TLC Meals on Wheels, will discuss the importance of teaching leadership, with strong character values being the most important element to instill in future leaders.
Following our November meeting we are sponsoring an Artisan Fair, with a wide variety of vendors selling crafts and services. The Artisan Fair will be a great way to start your holiday shopping! The Fair will be in the SARC building from 11:30-2:30 p.m. All proceeds go to funding the PIN/Sherry Sargent Scholarship. Plan to stay after the presentation and shop!
Presentations are free and are held the first Tuesday of each month at the Student Achievement Resource Center (SARC).
